New Category Manager Opportunity for a reputable UK retailer & wholesaler on the high-street.
As a Buyer you will manager all aspects of the category's commercial activity including sales reporting, range reviews, annual promotional plans, retail and trade selling process, supplier management as well as being involved with the own brand development plans.
You will lead the Buying strategy within budget and allowing for the maximum ROI.
You will need great commercial acumen and Buying experience from a FMCG, Supplier or Retail background; Heath & beauty is desirable for not mean essential!
Your roles include -
Ability to work within a budget & be able to trade profit opportunities
Carry out category reviews and category updates
Market research of current ranges in the market
Price Plans
Administration
Set retail selling price
Working alongside suppliers & customers in European market
Ensure pricing & quality of assortments is in line with agreed business strategy
Category performance - e.g. sales, wastage, profit, market share, LFL, volume, price index, return on shelf space
Product development involvement within own brand
select, plan & put forward appropriate offers for promotional store space
To be successful in the position you must have -
Category Management or Buying experience where you have full & complete ownership of the range and category.
Have been involved with, range reviews, promotional plans& Pricing plans.
Working in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and influential skills
Buying experience (preferably working within a FMCG / fast paced retailer)
Main and developed supplier relationship
Ability to lead and coach to deliver outstanding results as part of a team Product Development experience
Open to contract & permanent candidates (including maternity cover)
Excellent communication at all levels
In return you will work for a retail with a great international high-street presence who as a group is a well respected business. There are opportunities is initially for a 6 month contract however could be a permanent after this time period.
